With a new CEO on board who is highly supportive of HR and committed to lifting organisational capability, there is plenty happening. You’ll report to the Chief People Officer for Australasia, who is also based in New Zealand and deeply invested in building a strong, future‑focused people function.
This is a role for someone who brings credibility, calm confidence, and an engaging style, while also being able to have the tough conversations when needed. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, coach managers to lift capability, and ensure the business has the people foundations it needs for the future which will include implementing an HRIS.
What you’ll lead
- Partner with senior leaders to shape and deliver the HR strategy for New Zealand
- Provide trusted advice to leaders in the business.
- Lead organisational development initiatives, including capability building and coaching
- Oversee performance, talent, succession and workforce planning as well as other cyclic processes
- Drive engagement activity and action planning
- Collaborate with the Australian HR team
- Manage ER/IR matters with sound judgement
- Lead and develop one direct report
What you’ll bring
- Solid generalist HR experience, including partnering at senior levels
- Strong stakeholder management — credible, influential and relationship‑focused
- Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels with ease
- A coaching mindset and proven experience lifting manager capability
- Confidence navigating ER/IR matters and employment legislation
- Experience leading change and supporting managers through these processes
- A pragmatic, engaging style with the ability to communicate with impact
